Knowledge for CO2 Absorbent set

August 01,2023

CO2 absorbent designed specifically for clinical use, it has a long history of use within anesthesia and meets all the requirements of the United States and British Pharmacopoeias. Its chemical formulation has been developed specifically to address the potential problems of use within the mediical environment, while maintaining the highest possible CO2 capacity.

Features and Benefits:

• Only 1.5% Sodium Hydroxide. Less than standard soda lime.
• Zeolite to reduce the risk of drying out and pH buffering for additional CO2 capacity. No other absorbents contain a zeolite.
• Life Medical 's reduced Sodium Hydroxide content and zeolite, reduces the potential for reactions with volatile anesthetics to negligible levels.
• Life Medical’s is made of 3-4mm spheres processed to minimize potential dusting. Its uniform shape allows consistent bed packing, resulting in a more even flow of gases through the absorber and therefore, a very efficient absorption of CO2. These features provide Life Medical Co2 absorbent with a very efficient CO2 absorption. Life Medical’s is available in two indicator color changes, white to violet and pink to white.

A carbon dioxide scrubber is a piece of equipment that absorbs carbon dioxide, which is used to exhaust gases from industrial plants, exhaust carbon dioxide in space capsules, submarines. Lithium hydroxide is the best chemical absorbent for Carbon dioxide.
When a patient exhales carbon dioxide and anesthesia gas into their breathing tubes, it travels to a CO2 absorber canister.  Then, when a patient inhales, the CO2-containing anesthesia gas passes through the CO2 absorber, which (as its name suggests) absorbs the CO2 and removes it from the gas.
