Knowledge For Arterial Catheter

August 02,2023

Arterial catheterization is a frequent procedure in intensive care settings and the operating room. This procedure involves the placement of a catheter into the lumen of a peripheral artery to facilitate hemodynamic monitoring and arterial blood sampling. Intra-arterial catheters (also called arterial cannulas or A-lines) are often inserted for invasive blood pressure (BP) monitoring and intravascular access for blood sampling in high-risk surgical and critically ill patients.

CHARACTERISTICS

1. The tube is made of polyurethane with good biocompatibility and it is convenient for catheter placement due to stiff catheter
2. Standard Seldinger Technique
3. Catheter and guidewire are protected by sheath
4. Nitinol or stainless steel guidewire is available
5. Straight or Y-Shaped introducer needle configuration is available
